Stirling Students’ Union is to hold a candlelight vigil later this evening as an opportunity for students to mourn victims of recent terrorist atrocities, in Paris and beyond.

The vigil will begin at 5pm in the Peace Garden in Bridge of Allan. Students will be congregating in the Atrium at 4:45pm to make their way there.

Candles will be provided for those who wish to light one.

If you have been affected by these events, there is support available at the University, details of which can be found here.

Earlier today, the Student Union observed the Europe-wide minute of silence at 11am.

Student President Andrew Kinnell  described the attacks as “truly horrifying”, stating “[his] heart goes out to all those affected. Stirling Student’s Union will work with the University to ensure any students that have been effected or traumatized by the events are supported. Tonight we are arranging a candle-light vigil for those who want to mourn the tragedy in Paris as well as in Lebanon and elsewhere.”
