The Filling Station | Christmas Menu

3 mins read

Earlier this week I was lucky enough to be able to go and have dinner at The Filling Station and sample their current festive menu. I had a great time, and two of my friends Megan and Jess, came along as well so it was a good night all round! I think The Filling Station is probably underrated for Christmas food, but I think it’s a great place to venture if you’re on a work night out, or if you just want some Christmas nibbles with a friend.

The prices for this menu are £22.95 for a 3 course meal and £18.95 for 2 courses.

We were warmly welcomed, and once we had sat down, we were introduced to the drinks menu. There is a festive drink menu and the alternative, and I was hoping to go for a festive cocktail, however there were no non-alcoholic ones available and I didn’t want to drink so I opted for a Virgin Colada from the normal menu.

Once we got our drinks, we selected our choices. We decided to get 3 different starters, 3 different mains and 3 different deserts to have a good taste of everything.

For starters, we opted for Sesame Chicken Tenders, Ham Hog Cake and the Flat Bread to share.

My personal favourite was the Ham Hog Cake. I thought it was a great appetizer and a real Christmassy treat, and entices your tastebuds to feel festive.

For mains, we went for the Roadside Grill, the Double Burger and the Turkey and Roast Beef Melt.

We thoroughly enjoyed these! My friends liked the brisket the best from the Roadside Grill, but my personal favourite was the turkey from the Roast Beef Melt. The burger was delish as well, cooked to medium, but is not for the faint hearted- we struggled to get through this!

And then dessert! There was only three options on the menu, so it was very easy to decide, we just got one of each. We got the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Sundae, the Blueberry Waffles and Apple Cobbler.

Desert was amazing, being a girl who loves chocolate I was all over the sundae. However I also really enjoyed the Apple Cobbler. Yum!

It’s safe to say that we all left with full tummies and smiles on our faces. The service was really good, and we all felt that if you are considering going somewhere with friends or family this Christmas, the Filling Station is a good shout! (ppssst, will be there later this week for the Brig Christmas Meal)! Thankyou to The Filling Station Stirling for having me!
