Following the flooding in areas of Juniper Court yesterday, and the subsequent evacuation of some students to other accommodation, the University has released an official statement on the incident.
A spokesperson for the University said: “Following routine work on Juniper Court’s fire alarm and sprinkler system, we became aware of a fault on one of the joints which caused restricted water damage. For safety reasons and to allow us to clean and dry out the areas affected we moved a number of students to temporary accommodation on campus.
“We would like to thank affected students for their patience and apologise for the inconvenience this has caused. Work was carried out overnight to ensure the majority of residents affected could return to their accommodation today (Tuesday) and continues to ensure the remainder can move back in as soon as possible.”
