The first Stirling Campus 5K race is to be held this April, with the aim of making it a regular event in the university calendar.
The race will be held entirely on campus, and will take place on the evening of April 4. Entries will be just £2.
Race organiser Kelli Cochran-Sharp said: “The inaugural Campus 5K is a great opportunity for students, staff and community members to get active. Run, jog or even walk around our beautiful and scenic campus on this 5K route.
“The event is focused on participation and is aimed at all levels. So, get involved! Whether you are aiming to run your first 5K, or get a little bit of extra practice in for the Stirling Marathon.”
The Stirling Marathon, also in its inaugural year, is to be held in May, with the route taking in part of the university campus after starting at Blair Drummond Safari Park. Entries for the race are now sold out.
The new Campus 5K is part of a wide range of activities taking place in Stirling this year, with the university celebrating its 50th anniversary. Race entries will open at 5pm on the evening of April 4, with the race set to start at 6.30pm.
Kelli Cochran-Sharp added: “It’s about engaging university staff, students and community members in a bit of fun participation and healthy competition.
“The race will take in much of the campus, so it becomes a staple run around our beautiful campus every year.”
On-the-day entries are capped at 40, and will be given on a first come, first served basis. You can guarantee your entry via Q-Buster.
