Police are investigating the report of a hate crime in Chapelle Cresent, Tillicoultry.
The incident took place around 12.25am on Thursday, May 25, when a brick was thrown through the window of a Syrian family’s home.
Fortunately, nobody was injured as a result of the attack, however the police are treating this as a hate crime and are appealing for witnesses.
Chief Inspector Andrew Sinclair, Local Area Commander for Clackmannanshire, said: “This was a horrendous attack on a Syrian family, which could have had tragic consequences.
“We take all reports of hate crime very seriously and will be conducting a thorough investigation to ensure perpetrators are brought to justice.
“Our officers are carrying out inquiries and will be conducting high visibility patrols in the local area over the coming days.
“I would ask anyone who witnessed this incident, or has any other information that can assist our investigation, to get in touch with us soon as possible.
“Everyone has the right to feel safe in their community. There is no place for prejudice in modern society and Police Scotland is committed to tackling these offences wherever and whenever they occur.”
