Jack Maynard to appear at Stirling Freshers’ 2017

By Peter Stewart

The latest name added to the list of announced guests set to appear at Stirling Freshers’ Week 2017 is YouTube and social media star Jack Maynard.

Brother of British singer-songwriter Conor, who also found fame through the video-sharing platform, the 22-year-old will perform an exclusive DJ set at the Union on Wednesday, September 13. He joins the line-up for 2017 alongside entertainers The Chuckle Brothers, confirmed to appear the preceding night.

Maynard’s set is certain to feature his mix collaborations with DJ G23. The partnership with G23 began when the pair released ‘New Year New Mix’ on Hogmanay last year, and Maynard has since used his Instagram to promote follow-up mixes. G23 is also Conor Maynard’s official DJ.

Jack Maynard recently surpassed one million subscribers on YouTube, a huge achievement for a vlogger, and announced a ‘1 Million Subscriber Party’ at London’s O2 Academy to celebrate the milestone. By far his biggest live appearance to date, he will DJ alongside special guests for a sold-out crowd on July 28, and his set at Stirling is sure to bring with it a taste of that spectacle.

This year has also seen Maynard team up with his brother to release a track called ‘Grenade’. The siblings’ pop side-project was announced in May and goes by the name G.O.A.T..
