Summer is upon us and what better way is there to spend the next few months than by going to see some great live music? Here are some of the highlights of the artists playing in Scotland over the next few months:
Jay-Z and Beyoncé OTR II @ Hampden Park, Glasgow – 9th June
This is guaranteed to be one of the biggest shows of the year, with two of the biggest artists in the world! After their first On The Run tour didn’t come to the UK, this is the first opportunity for us to see Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s joint tour over here. If her spectacular Lemonade tour was anything to go by, this is going to be incredible.
Demi Lovato @ The SSE Hydro, Glasgow – 13th June
The former Disney star is touring the world this year after the release of her sixth album, Tell Me You Love Me. With a back catalogue including the hits ‘Skyscraper’, ‘Cool for the Summer’ and ‘Sorry Not Sorry’, this will be an arena spectacular filled with some great pop music.

Ben Howard @ Usher Hall, Edinburgh – 28th June
Following the release of his third studio album Noonday Dream today (June 1), Ben Howard is playing venues across the UK. His mellow folk music sounds even better live than on his records, making him a live act everyone should see if they get the chance!
TRNSMT @ Glasgow Green – 29th June to 8th July
Following its first year last summer, TRNSMT is back and even bigger this summer with a huge line-up including Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, Liam Gallagher, Stereophonics and Queen & Adam Lambert. Five days of live music with a pretty eclectic line-up could make this the festival of the summer (especially with Glastonbury not taking place this year).
Bruno Mars @ Glasgow Green – 10th July
The massive outdoor shows in Glasgow continue this summer with one of the biggest R&B artists in the world. Not only that, but he is being supported by Dua Lipa, who has fast become one of the biggest pop stars around. Seeing both of these huge artists in one night will make for quite the show.
Tom Jones @ Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh – 6th August
Very few artists still touring these days have the number of hits to challenge the legend that is Sir Tom Jones. He’ll be performing loads of his greatest hits this summer in Edinburgh, which will surely end up being one massive sing-along. What’s not to like?
Runrig @ City Park, Stirling – 18th August
As announced last year, Runrig are playing some farewell shows across Europe this summer before they have their final farewell in Stirling. It promises to be a celebration of their long and successful career, and will be a very special concert.

Glasgow Summer Sessions @ Bellahouston Park, Glasgow – 22nd to 29th August
The line-up for this year’s summer sessions is very promising, with headline acts Kings of Leon, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and Kendrick Lamar. With the two bands being hailed as some of the best live acts around at the moment, and Kendrick wowing the world with The DAMN. Tour (which Brig reviewed when it came to Glasgow in February), these will be three massive outdoor shows towards the end of the summer festival season.
