Strathcarron Hospice will host its 30th annual 10K Race and Family Fun Run at Stirling University on October 14.
The 10K will for a new multi-terrain route that takes runners across roads, paths and cross country. The event was commissioned by the Scottish Athletics committee and is open to all runners over the age of 15.
The 2.5K Family Fun Run on the other hand is open to everyone and is more about the fun than the competition.
“Our 2.5K Family Fun Run is open to all ages and really is all about the fun – in 2017 we were joined by a couple of Ninja Turtles as well as whole families of runners enjoying the experience together!” Says the events webpage at https://www.strathcarronhospice.net/Event/10-k-race.
Last year both the races completely sold out, and the event is predicted to sell out again this year. So far both the 10K Race early bird tickets and the 10K Race EB with SA discount tickets have sold out.
All profits from the event go towards helping Strathcarron Hospice to continue providing its services to those in need.
Tickets for the 10K cost £20, tickets for the fun run cost £5. Discounted tickets with a Scottish Athletics membership are also available at £18.
“Every single penny raised really will make a difference, helping us to continue providing our specialist palliative care services to the people of Forth Valley, Kilsyth and Cumbernauld.” Explains the events webpage.
Strathcarron Running Vests are also available for purchase at a price of £10, with the funds also going towards the cause.
