As the dates in our calendars change on a regular basis, semi-predictable fluctuations in the weather follows. That is something we’re all aware of, it’s a commonly known fact.
However, most of us are quite unaware of the seasonality of our food. But just like choosing to hike the Scottish Munros in July rather than December is a wise move, so is purchasing food at its peak time, in terms of harvest. Not only will this ensure that the given type of food is at its cheapest, yummiest and freshest – it will also contribute to a less polluted, all around happier planet.
