£3k worth of drugs seized over the weekend

1 min read

Police officers in Stirling have reported the arrest of two men over misuse of drugs.

Community police traced the two individuals who were in possession of drugs after receiving information for the public.

After the men were arrested, officers obtained warrants to search their properties where they seized a further amount of controlled drugs with an estimated value of around £3000.

Both of the men who were arrested have spent the weekend in police custody.

Drug dealing and other anti-social behaviour were previously identified by Inspector Anton Stephenson to be serious concerns for residents in the North and West of Stirling, including the city centre, Raploch, Cornton, Causewayhead and St Ninians.

Police have previously stated the high priority they place on misuse of drugs, with the area commanders for Forth Valley and Stirling, Chief Superintendent Gill Marshall and Chief Superintendent Thom McLaughlin both telling council committees that they are committed to preventing drug deaths, which has been identified as a problem both nationally and the Stirling area.
