TV Presenter Caroline Flack has been found dead at her home.
It has been confirmed by her family in a statement that the 40 year old died today.
“ We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today, the 15th of February. We would ask that the press respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time and we would ask they make no attempt to contact us and/or photograph us. “
The Ex Love Island host pleaded not guilty in December 2019 to assaulting her boyfriend Lewis Burton and was due to start trial on March 4, 2020. Burton, a former professional tennis player wished his girlfriend a “Happy valentines”, just one day before she was found dead at her London based flat.
On Twitter, ITV stated “ Everybody at Love Island and ITV is shocked and saddened by this desperately sad news. Caroline was a much loved member of the Love Island team and our sincere thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends. “
Numerous celebrities have also paid tribute to the star. Broadcaster and journalist Eamonn Holmes said “ Caroline Flack …. Dear God. Shocked beyond belief. May she have found peace . #Rip Has to be repercussions for Love Island now surely ? “
Flack posted a picture on Instagram on December 5, 2019 which read, “In a world where You can be anything, be kind” captioning it, “Anything … we can literally choose to be anything ….”
