The University of Stirling has claimed the title for the 2019/ 2020 Under 20’s East of Scotland Football League Conference B after the season got cut short on April 14.
The student side managed to run out winners of their division after measures against the COVID-19 pandemic meant they were to be handed the title early.
BSC Glasgow will feel undoubtedly feel aggrieved at this news as they were technically top of the league at the time of the decision.

However, University of Stirling had games in hand over the Glasgow side and also boasted a higher points per game stat – which resulted in the Forthbank side being crowned champions of the division.
In a twitter statement, University of Stirling FC said:
“Not the way we wanted to win the conference, but with the season ending yesterday, our side claiming the best PPG, (points per game) sees us win the conference.
Congratulations also to Edinburgh City on an excellent season in winning conference A.
[It is] a great achievement and hopefully brings some joy to our boys during a difficult time. #BleedGreen”
University of Stirling under 20s finished the season on 38 points and are still waiting on news of when the new season begins, pending the lift on lockdown measures placed by the UK government.
