Emergency services blocked from local beauty spot due to parked cars

1 min read

Forth Valley police have urged the public to park considerately when at rural areas to allow access for emergency services at all times.

During Monday lunch time the Scottish Ambulance Service were called to popular local beauty spot Glen Finnich better known as Devils Pulpit after a member of the public had slipped and sustained an injury.

Given the location of the person Lomond Mountain Rescue Team were required to help but when emergency vehicles arrived the spot was inaccessible due to parked cars.

Access roads, gates and emergency vehicle laybys are there in the event of an emergency and should not be used for parking.

On this occasion the person was safely rescued by the Lomand Mountain Rescue Team but Forth Valley Police have asked that the public remain more aware of this in the future.
