Is Eggnog all it is cracked up to be?

Some say Eggnog is an acquired taste; we love it or hate it. But, in celebration of National Eggnog day here is a quick and easy recipe for all the Eggnog lovers!

If your not a fan of eggs, maybe sit this one out. The drink itself is rich and creamy in texture and if done correctly, will make for a perfect Christmas Eve treat.

There is disputes over what alcohol best suits Eggnog, so feel free to substitute this recipe’s choice of brandy for your own preference.

So, start your Christmas day celebrations the night before with this delicious Eggnog recipe and wake sunny-side up!

Ingredients:

50g caster sugar

4 egg yolks

1 tsp vanilla essence

397g can of condensed milk

100ml brandy

Method:

Step one: Put the sugar in a saucepan with 75ml water. Simmer until the sugar has dissolved, then cool and chill.

Step two: Beat the egg yolks with the vanilla until smooth. Add the condensed milk, brandy, and cooled sugar syrup, mixing well.

Step three: Pour into a jug and chill for at least 2 hrs. Serve within 24 hrs, over ice.

Step four: Enjoy!
