Police are appealing for information on an assault in Alva last night

Forth Valley Police Division are appealing for information after a 29-year-old women was assaulted on Stirling Street, Alva yesterday evening. 

The incident took place at around 8.45pm.

The woman was walking with her young child, who was on a scooter at the time when a man approached and assaulted her before fleeing the area.

The victim was left uninjured however, she was left shaken. 

She was assisted by a local shop assistant, before calling the police.

The suspect is described as being a white man, possibly in his 30’s, around 5’10” tall, stocky build, wearing a dark sports style zipper top, grey jogging bottoms and light coloured trainers. He had short dark hair, with a receding hairline.

Sergeant Andy Chalmers, from Alloa Police Station, said: “We’re appealing for anyone who was in the Stirling Street area last night around the time of the incident and may have seen anything suspicious to please come forward.”

“While we can be thankful that this incident did not lead to more serious injuries, it was clearly extremely distressing for the victim and her son.”

“Any information which could help us establish the full circumstances and the identity of the man could prove vital.”

Police are requesting anyone with information to contact the police on 101, quoting incident 3799 of 24 January.
