Stirling motorway closed as man airlifted to hospital

A man has been airlifted to hospital after an man was found with serious injuries on a Stirling motorway this lunchtime.

Police rushed to the scene between junctions nine and ten of the M9 around 12:40pm and closed lanes in both directions.

Police have said that they had received reports of a concerned person. The condition of the man airlifted to hospital is currently unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A man was found on the hard shoulder with serious injuries and has been taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in Glasgow, for treatment.”

The road was closed for two hours by police and their enquiries are currently ongoing.
