Golfer Tiger Woods has been rushed to hospital following a serious car crash in California.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said: “Mr. Woods was extricated from the wreck with the ‘jaws of life’ by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics.”

The 45-year-old’s agent told Golf Digest that Woods was undergoing surgery after suffering “multiple leg injuries.”

Woods was the only person in the car, which authorities said sustained “major damage”.
