Stirling University captain Craig Brown has signed on-loan for League 2 side Elgin City until the end of the season.
The 22 year old, who was poised to trial for Premiership side Livingston, has accepted the bid from the Highland side as they hope to keep the pressure on Queen’s Park in the closing stage of the season.
Brown will also link up with former Stirling University stalwart Angus Mailer who has become a regular in the Elgin defence.
The Elgin City FC official Twitter account announced the signing earlier today: “We are delighted to announce forward Craig Brown has joined us on loan from University of Stirling for the remainder of the season – Welcome Craig”
Scottish lower leagues were recently given the green light to go ahead with a twenty-two game season in order to decide the competitions.
This has prompted clubs to go on a mad dash for loan signings in order to fill out squads for what promises to be an exciting end to the season.
A lot of these loans are coming from the Lowland and Highland leagues which have players at a loose end after hope for a restart fades away for those clubs.
