Steven Gerrard’s side continued their dominant campaign with a 2-0 win over Old Firm rivals Celtic in the last 16 of the Scottish Cup.
A close-range overhead kick from Steven Davis saw Rangers lead after only 10 minutes, before on-loan Celtic defender Jonjoe Kenny turned the ball into his own goal to double the lead.
Celtic were wasteful in front of goal throughout, with their afternoon summed up by Odsonne Edouard’s late second half penalty, which was comfortably saved by Allan McGregor.
Rangers will face St. Johnstone in the quarter-finals, as hopes of a domestic double remain firmly alive.
The Perth side ran out 2-0 winners over Clyde at the weekend, while Hibernian brushed aside Stranraer. Aberdeen booked their place in the quarter-finals with a penalty shootout win against fellow premiership side Livingston.
Duncan Scott and Kathleen Dawson break records at British Olympic trials
Stirling swimmers Duncan Scott and Kathleen Dawson both swam in highly impressive times over the weekend to break records at the British Olympic trials in London.
Duncan Scott grabbed his third title and second British record of the week following triumph in the 200m freestyle.
After previously setting the British record of 1:44.91 at the 2019 World Championships in Gwangju, Scott bettered his time by 0.44 seconds on Sunday.
After the win, Scott said: “I’m delighted with the time and to get the win in a field that is so strong”.
Fellow Stirling swimmer Dawson was just as impressive in London, as the 23-year-old broke her second Scottish record of the week with a win in the 200m backstroke.
On Saturday, Dawson posted a remarkable time of 2:08.14, smashing her own record by 1.3 seconds, that she set in March at the British Swimming Invitation Meet.
Mighty Thunder powers home to lift Scottish Grand National
The Scottish Grand National stays on home soil as Mighty Thunder powered home under Tom Scudamore to win the feature at Ayr on Sunday.
The Lucinda Russel trained eight-year-old stayed on far superior to his rivals, despite travelling wide throughout and being produced from the rear of the field.
Runner-up Dingo Dollar, also Scottish trained, led with four fences to jump. The Edinburgh National winner battled back though, and tackled the leader at the final fence before running on gamely.
The result gave Scotland a 1-2 finish, and is the first time that a Scottish trainer has won the race since 2012.
Stewart Cink wins third RBC Heritage title; John Catlin wins Austrian Open in five-hole playoff
America harvested a tour double on Sunday as Stewart Cink held off a number of challengers to win the RBC Heritage, while John Catlin struck deep into a playoff with Max Kieffer to win the Austrian Open.
Cink, 47, claimed his third title at Harbour Town with a convincing four-stroke victory over Emiliano Grillo and Harold Varner III.
Heading into the final round with a five-stroke lead, the former Open Championship winner was always well on top, and a one-under-par 70 was more than enough to give him his second win this season.
In Austria, John Catlin overcame German Max Kieffer on the pairs fifth playoff hole to claim his third European Tour win.
The American carded the round of the day, a seven-under-par 65 to tie at the top of the leaderboard, with former world number 1 Martin Kaymer finishing third.
But the deciding moment was deep into the shootout, when Kieffer shot a quintuple-bogey after dropping three balls in the water, handing Catlin the victory with a bogey.
