Indie-rock band The Vaccines have released their first single today since All My Friends Are Falling In Love in 2018.

Headphones Baby is of a very similar sound to All My Friends Are Falling In Love. It is very much a summer vibe.

Justin Hayward-Young (lead vocals/guitar), Freddie Cowan (guitar), Árni Árnason (bass), Tim Lanham (keyboard) and Yoann Intonti (drums) have produced Headphones Baby as the first insight into their upcoming fifth album which will be out this year.

This follows their last album Combat Sports, also released in 2018.

“We want it to feel like a road trip or acid trip, or an explosion of colour” frontman, Hayward-Young told NME in regards to the track and music video.

The song was intended to create the idea of an escape.

The Vaccines deliver once again on this track as they really know how to produce and maintain energetic tracks. In regards to this, Headphones Baby is very indie-pop.

This track and the upcoming album (its name still unreleased) were influenced by the idea of dystopian cities.

Headphones Baby is a modern track with a catchy chorus and is an ironic way for the band to be back on the music scene again after three years because it is so alike to the last track heard from them in 2018.

Hayward-Young revealed that he believes this upcoming record is their best yet, although official details of the album have yet to follow.

Headphones Baby is a promising track and has definitely helped to build the anticipation for the new album.
