Scotland’s young people are one step closer to their COVID vaccine after being called to register for their appointments.
An online portal has opened which allows those aged between 18-29 and registered with a GP in mainland Scotland to register for a COVID-19 vaccination.
The online portal is only available until 4th June 2021 and is part of the next phase of the vaccination schedule to help protect against COVID-19. Anyone who registers via the online portal will receive an email or text with information about their vaccination appointment.
If anyone encounters issues during the registration process or is unable to utilise the online portal, they are advised to phone the helpline on 0800 030 8013
Commenting on the announcement , Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social care , Humza Yousaf said:
“The COVID-19 vaccine is our best way out of the current pandemic and these survey findings are really encouraging as we roll-out the programme to those in the younger age groups and look at potential uptake levels. “
Yousaf added “I’d encourage anyone that is 18-29 years old to go online and register for the vaccine now before the deadline of 4 June so that they can be offered an appointment by text or email.”
