The University have announced the possibility of a quarantine hotel in accommodation for international students.
The scheme would see students who arrive at Glasgow and Edinburgh Airports travel straight to the university and carry out a ten-day quarantine in accommodation rather than a Government quarantine hotel.
The university is currently involved in talks with the Scottish Government to be able to host international students coming from red list countries, but they hope that the plans are approved in the coming weeks.
The announcement stated that the costs of a university-managed quarantine hotel are expected to be less for students than government-managed ones.
International students have been urged to keep updates on guidance for international travel and to complete an online form as soon as possible if they would like their quarantine to be in uni accommodation.
A University of Stirling spokesperson said: “We are currently working with the Scottish Government to explore the possibility of the University being authorised to host students from red-listed countries in our own University accommodation as part of the managed quarantine scheme.
“We hope this new scheme will be approved in the next couple of weeks and will provide further information as we have it.”
