Single dose COVID-19 vaccine approved by UK regulator

A single dose vaccine against COVID-19 has been approved by the MHRA , which is the UK’s medicines regulator.

The vaccine which is manufactured by Janssen was 85% effective against “severe illness” in clinical trials is expected to arrive in the UK later this year.

The UK has ordered 20 million doses of this particular vaccine which is the fourth vaccine against COVID-19 to be approved for use in the UK.

In Scotland, 3,196,051 have now received a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and this alongside 28,271 second doses that were used yesterday , means that the total number of individual’s who have completed their vaccination schedule is 1,971,006.
