They anticipate the warning will remain in place until Saturday, though say the heaviest rainfall is anticipated to be from this afternoon (Thursday) and continue through the whole of Friday.

Localised flooding is expected as a result, with rivers and small watercourses set to rise in the coming days.

Travellers are urged to take caution when out on the roads with surface water set to cause disruption.

The Council have revealed that pallets of sandbags will be stationed outside the gates of Callander and Springkerse roads depots, in case of emergency.
