12 University of Stirling swimmers are featuring on the list of athletes going to the Commonwealth Games for Scotland.
The 12 Stirling swimmers are: Craig Benson, Keanna Macinnes, Craig McNally, Ross Murdoch, Emma Russell, Mark Szaranek, Cassie Wild-Richards, Martyn Walton, Duncan Scott, Oliver Carter, Abby Kane and Toni Shaw.
Competing in the para-swimming events are Carter, Kane and Shaw.
Only six Stirling swimmers competed at the 2018 Games in Australia where Scotland placed 6th in the overall swimming medal table.
As well as veterans, many swimmers on the list are making their international debut.
Duncan Scott was pre-selected and recently won four medals at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Ross Murdoch who has already won gold, silver and bronze across two Commonwealth Games is also competing.
The university performed well in the 2020 Olympic Games, winning four medals in the swimming events. It will be exciting to see if they can replicate their success in the upcoming Commonwealth Games.

The Commonwealth Games will take place in Birmingham from 30th July to the 8th of August. The swimming events are between the 29th of July and the 3rd of August.
