The finalists for the Food Awards Scotland 2022 were announced last night.
Stirling is well-represented by its variety of establishments nominated for the awards.
Three Stirling businesses are nominated for Restaurant of the Year: River House, Friend of Mine and Brea.
Friend of Mine is also up for Best Vegetarian Establishment and Brea for Vegan Restaurant of the Year. This is no surprise after Stirling was named a top student city for vegans last week.
Ally’s Curry Palace and Spice Garden are competing against each other for Takeaway of the Year, as well as Maharaja and Mint Leaf for Best Indian Establishment.

The Birds & Bees made the grade for Gastro Pub of the Year and was also nominated for Best Scottish Cuisine alongside Brea.
Artisan bakery Vera is up for Bakery of the Year again, after being awarded Highly Commended last year.
This is the eighth year of the Food Awards, with the ceremony taking place in Glasgow on September 19.
