As It Was by Harry Styles is now the longest running number one song in the American music charts by a British single artist.
The accolade which has been held by other famous songwriters such as Sir Elton John and Mark Ronson in the past, came after the hit single topped the American charts for the 15th week in a row.
The song was number one in the UK music charts for over two months.
Styles, who found success on the UK version of the TV singing competition X Factor in 2010 as part of the boyband One Direction, has had numerous Solo top ten hits in the past with Sign of The Times and Watermelon Sugar. But As It Was represents only his second solo UK number one hit.

Recently, Styles has also found success on other forms of American media as an actor by playing a leading role in the thriller Don’t Worry Darling, which is currently number one in the American cinema charts.
