The Blessed Madonna “Godspeed” review: Dancing for days ★★★★★

The Blessed Madonna is always guaranteed to bring a good vibe, and nothing has changed with her debut album Godspeed, out this Friday October 18.

Starting the album with God Has Left The Room (Intro) and Somebody’s Daughter ft Karen Lomax immediately gets you dancing. Darker than her usual style, but still featuring her typical skilled bass line, the first six minutes of the album start Godspeed on a high. The second track moves slowly towards the end but the high energy returns with a seamless transition into the third track: Nowhere Fast.

The lulls, drops, and high-energy moments move between each other seamlessly.

The album does not lose momentum. Written over the span of three years, The Blessed Madonna has taken her time curating this something-for-everyone album. It’s paid off.

Track four, Henny, Hold Up ft Mother Marygold and Ric Wilson marks the start of a house beat return. Less of a club song and more late-night radio acceptable, this track shows the range of The Blessed Madonna’s skill.

SeratoninMoonbeams begins, introducing the listener to absolute house perfection. It’s a nice track to lead into the well-established classic and less single from the album: Edge of Saturday Night ft Kyle Minogue.

Godspeed continues on with more bangers. It has something for everyone. The intros, the features and every track in between provides a good time for the listener.

The Blessed Madonna has once again proved she’s worth her salt. If you didn’t catch her playing one of her many festival stages or DJ sets last summer, be sure to catch her as soon as you can.
