Charli xcx Brat Tour Review: ★★★★★

Charli xcx stunned at the OVO Hydro on Monday, December 2. Coming fresh off the high of Brat, and the cultural phenomenon of brat summer, there was a lot to contend for with this tour. It sold out and people were fighting for tickets at all hours. The Essex singer knows how to put on a performance with the show divided into four parts and an encore, each marked by an outfit change. Every single song was marked by an electric energy as the arena gave their all for closing night of the tour.

The show was opened by shygirl, who knows how to make an audience excited for the main act. With a good chunk of the arena standing after the first song, the energy in the room was incredible as everyone danced along.

When Charli came on stage to 365, with a big brat green curtain behind her, everyone was aware how much the audience had to give this time round. Charli brought shygirl back out to perform their remix version of 365 with her and encouraged the audience to give her another round of thanks for what she’d done during the tour.

From 365, we launched straight into 360, followed by von dutch as fans screamed lyrics back at Charli all night long. She broke up the brat demand by playing old hits such as Unlock it, Vroom Vroom, Track 10 and of course closed on her iconic cover of I love it.

The energy in the room was incredible, with every single person standing, dancing, singing and screaming as we watched Charli give one of the best performances of her career. Just her alone on the stage with a single camera man was captivating and i was unable to take my eyes off her all night.

Charli thanked the fans multiple times, saying that she never dreamed she would be able to perform in “venues of this size” again saying she wouldn’t be anywhere without everyone in the room.

The gig kept everyone on their feet until the very end and I’m ecstatic to see what she does next.
