Finn Wolfhard Rocks Glasgow’s King Tuts: The Objection! Tour Concert Review ★★★★☆

On Monday, October 13, I had the brilliant experience of seeing Finn Wolfhard playing live at Glasgow’s iconic King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on his Objection! tour, and let me tell you, this guy is just as talented music-wise as he is with his acting and directing.

For his first time ever stepping foot into Scotland, he gifted Glasgow with a electric show full of tunes from his 2025 album Happy Birthday, plus some of his new songs and also a cover, giving the audience a night that will not be forgotten.

Opening the gig was the Chicago-formed indie rock band The Slaps, consisting of Rand Kelly, Ramsey Bell and Josh Reslin, who hyped up the audience with a mixed-genre discography of their original songs with a range of jazz and rock melodies, offering insight into the talent and potential that will flourish in their future.

As Finn jumped onto the stage, he immediately got the crowd rocking as he and his team started a jam with his opening song Everytown There’s a Darling, building energy as soon as the show started.

He followed with the performances of his popular songs ‘Objection!’ and ‘Choose the Latter’, which instantly fuelled the energy and voices of his fans, and he enlivened everyone as he played a range of songs from his album alongside a cover of the The Only Ones’ 1978 song Another Girl, Another Planet.

On stage with him were his fellow guitar players and drummer, alongside guitarist and singer Gep Repasky, who is also a musician in the indie band Lunar Vacation.

They blessed the crowd with a softer and dreamy performance of their collaborative (and my personal favourite) song No Offerings, which was unexpected and completely made my night.

The crowd remained restless from awe and were repeating Scottish chants in high anticipation for him to come back to the stage. Finn shortly returned for an encore, giving a sweet solo performance to his song ‘Happy Birthday’ on the keyboard, before jumping back into an electrifying medley of his songs ‘Trailers after Dark’ and ‘Crown’ and ended his superb show by going out on an electric high.

Overall, I was in awe from this short but amazing concert, from The Slaps’ striking opening to the rocking energy that was unleashed by both Finn and the audience, and it has certainly engaged me more with the indie rock genre than I was previously.

Thank you for a night to remember Finn, you will be welcomed back in Scotland anytime.
