Twice members Jihyo, Nayeon, Momo, and Tzuyu performed at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show on October 15. They performed ‘this is for‘ which is a confidence boosting track with a catchy dance as well as ‘strategy’.
This is a big deal since Twice is the first Kpop group to perform at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show. Even though only four out of the nine members attended. The reason why the rest of the members did not attend is still unclear. People believe that the members that did not attend had prior commitments or were resting in between shows since Twice is currently on their world tour.
Performing at the Victoria Secret Fashion is a massive milestone in Twice’s career since it shows western presence. The group were also the first kpop group to headline at Lollapalooza. With Korean media and netizens saying that the outfits that they were wearing were too revealing to the western media criticising the vocals of the group backlash has been no stranger to this performance.
Tzuyu told fans on bubble she felt sick upon arriving in New York City and later lost her voice. While explaining Tzuyu also apologised to once for the poor performance.
Members such as Jihyo and Nayeon also went to bubble to tell once that they felt stressed having to perform other members parts in the songs. However, not all was bad. The Twice members that performed are going viral for their looks. Especially Tzuyu since the push up bra that she was made to wear has been sold out in the US and China.
The performance all together however, was iconic. It is a massive leap for their career. Twice celebrated ten years together this year. The Victoria Secret Fashion show being at the end of the year seems to be a perfect way to end the year.
