Brig Advent Day 22: Poetry: Three sleeps left

Snowflakes fall slowly to the sound of bells

Santa could be heard in the distant air

Children’s laughter as they say their farewells Christmas is around the corner, nearly here

Families gather – the wait is nearly over

Eggnog and mince pies passed around

Adults hiding their hangover,

From mulled wine downed

The advent calendars have more empty doors

Than full ones – only a few left

Santa won’t come if he doesn’t hear your snores

So, sleep and don’t worry about possible theft

From the Grinch

Merry Christmas to all

Enjoy the cheer with family and friends
