Ghost of Yotei is a sequel to Sucker Punch Productions critically acclaimed 2020 action adventure game, Ghost of Tsushima, set over 300 years after the original. In 1603, Jin Sakai’s story is already over- but a new ghost will rise up. The Hokkaido area is an interesting new setting with Mount Yotei as a focal point, which should offer a different experience than the island of Tsushima, and the 300 years time skip will make way for new weapons and technology to enter the fray. From the trailer alone we can already gleam the introduction of guns and possibly dual wielding.

Sucker Punch promises a new vast beautiful piece of Japan to explore, and the cinematic trailer certainly offers some pretty sights. Ghost of Yotei will launch next year for PS5, and I can’t wait to find out more about new protagonist Atsu and what looks to be her friend wolf.

That was a wrap on the September 2024 State of Play, though with Tokyo Game Show later this week there’s sure to be some more exciting reveals on the way.
