Project 2025 will make life harder for Americans

The Republican party’s “Project 2025” plan for if Trump wins the 2024 election will make life in America worse.

The American think tank The Heritage Foundation drafted a plan for a Republican victory in 2023. Funded by a $22m (£17) budget. Despite its prevalent association with Trump, Project 2025 does not specifically state what the plan is for his presidency. Just the next Republican’s. Also known as the Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise, Project 2025 is a 922 page list of dangerous, far-right and extremely stupid policies drafted by idiotic Conservatives.

And it could not be more detrimental for everyone in America.

What Project 2025 Promises

Abortion bans are already killing women who would still be alive today if they had safe access to abortion. Project 2025 seeks to make this issue worse.

It plans to outlaw the abortion pill, mifepristone and mailing any abortion medication. Foetuses would also legally become people under this scheme.

So many women have already died because of these bans. Candi Miller, 41, couldn’t have another baby because of her diabetes, lupus and hypertension. She got pregnant again and took abortion pills that came in the mail. She got an infection but was afraid that Georgia’s abortion ban would lead to her going to prison. So she didn’t seek help and died. She could still be alive.

18-year-old Nevaeh Crain also died after healthcare staff denied her care because of Texas’ abortion ban. She was six months into her pregnancy and developed symptoms of sepsis and couldn’t walk from abdominal pain. But, since the foetus had a heartbeat, it couldn’t be aborted.

Nevaeh went to the hospital again and miscarried. And staff couldn’t provide proper care because they needed to evaluate whether her life was at risk and that the pregnancy was abnormal. She went to the Emergency Room three times. But staff prioritised a foetus over a dying teenage girl.

In Texas, where abortion is banned unless the mother’s life is endangered, deaths during pregnancy have risen by fifty-six per cent from 2019 to 2022.

With Project 2025, these deaths will surge. And women who could have lived full and happy lives would instead die of preventable deaths. The plan also seeks to ban “woke” terms such as reproductive rights and sexual orientation from appearing in federal regulations and laws.

Gender and immigration

It also calls for the Centre of Disease Control and Prevention to stop collecting data on gender identity. And labelled transgenderism as “unscientific.”

It would also abolish the Department of Education. I’ll let that speak for itself.

Gender ideology would also disappear from schools. Meaning American children won’t learn how different cultures and people understand gender. So, they won’t have access to different perspectives or understand how some views on masculinity and femininity could help or harm people.

As well as banning all pornography.

Project 2025 will also allow raids against migrants in schools and places of worship and ending birthright citizenship. As well as expanding deportation and detention of immigrants.

Disabled People

Project 2025 endangers Medicaid, which is a programme that provides health insurance to disabled people or people on low incomes. This would happen by revoking the Inflation Reduction Act; leading to people paying more out-of-pocket for prescriptions and treatments.

And for such a militarised country, veterans are also in danger. With Project 2025’s changes, fewer medical conditions would be covered by disability claims for veterans.

The Environment

For the climate, money for researching renewable energy will get cut back. The document also demands the president stops the “war on oil and natural gas.” It would also reverse protections for grey wolves and grizzly bears.

And no more requirements for setting air quality standards.

Concluding Thoughts

If you’re a woman, you are effectively blocked from abortion and reproductive healthcare.

If you’re a man, exploring femininity or different ways to be a man would be out of the question.

And if you’re LGBTQIA+, an immigrant or disabled, any remaining rights you had will evaporate.

So, if Project 2025 goes through, we’re f*cked.

If someone tells you who they are, believe them.
