Brig Advent Day 16th: The best ever peppermint bark

With just three ingredients, this festive peppermint bark is easy to make and delicious! It’s the perfect treat for your friends and family, working well as a brilliant party favour or even as a Christmas gift.

Ingredients:

Method:

  1. Start off by melting the chocolate. Personally, I do this by bringing a pot of water to a simmer and then placing a heat proof glass bowl over the top. Then break the chocolate into small pieces and adding it to the bowl, stirring occasionally. This whole process takes around five to ten minutes. alternatively, microwave the chocolate in 30 second increments.
  2. While the chocolate is melting, get the candy canes and break them into small pieces. Then put them in a Ziplock bag or wrap in some kitchen roll and hit with a metal spoon until very small, but not too small that its powdery.
  3. Then pour the melted chocolate onto some parchment paper on a baking tray and sprinkle the broken up candy canes on top.
  4. Place into the freezer for about fifteen minutes and then break into chunks and enjoy!
  5. Put into a sealed container and store in your fridge or freezer!

And there you have it, the perfect winter treat that everyone will be raving about!
