Stirling University offers support after 18-year-old Ruben Agado was found dead in Alexander Court on Friday, February 7.

Emergency services were called to the first-year accommodation at around 2:20 pm, where witnesses reported seeing paramedics and police enter the halls.

The young man’s death was ruled as unexplained and police do not believe there to be suspicious circumstances.

Professor Kirstie Blair, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, issued a University-wide response on February 10, and included the following:

“Having enrolled at Stirling in September 2024, Ruben was a first-year student within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and was in the early stages of his university journey.

“Ruben will be very sadly missed by our university community.”

Agado’s family told the Courier: “Ruben was a brilliant guy: very funny, very intelligent, and with an intense interest in the world around him.”
