British indie legends The Wombats are set to play at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on Tuesday, March 25 playing songs from their most recent album Oh! The Ocean, which was released last month.

The band, who formed as teenagers in Liverpool, are best known for upbeat indie hits like Let’s Dance to Joy Division and Kill The Director off their 2007 debut album Love, Loss & Desperation. Since then, the band have released and toured another five albums.

They’re also no strangers to Glasgow – this will be their twentieth visit to the city but their first time playing at a venue as big as the Hydro.

“I love it. Every time we play, I’m like, ‘Omg when can we go back’?” Drummer Dan Haggis told The Glasgow Times about performing in Glasgow.

The band will be supported by “very special guests” Manchester indie band Everything Everything and Red Rum Club.

Doors will be at 6:30PM and The Wombats are expected to take stage around 9PM, with the show finishing by 11PM at the very latest.

The show’s standing section is over 14s only, and all under 16s must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.

Glasgow will be the second last stop on the band’s UK tour, having also performed shows in London, Cardiff, Manchester and Hull.

And if you’ve decided you want to dance to Joy Division at the last minute, tickets can be bought here.
