A Night To Remember: Stirling Music Quest 2025

4 mins read

After a grueling two months of searching, the Stirling Music Quest artist has come to an end.

From January 27 to February 17 a tournament was held every Monday at the
Venue to uncover the musical talents of local bands and artists, with the opportunity to win a
professional recording of the winners single at Studio 1790.

On March 17, this Battle of the Bands reached its conclusion when the 4 best acts from the
past month of performances came to a clash.

The night started off with the emotional performance of solo singer CJ (Camille), who gave the
audience a captivating medley of both original songs and cover of popular songs such as
Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love” and Billy Joel’s “Vienna” which was accompanied by her
skillful piano playing.

Next up on stage was another solo act, Will Treeby. He quickly switched up the vibe and
brought a different energy to the stage with his performance of original songs that were strongly
influenced by Scottish folk music, which was ever prevalent in his last song “Pride” that was
about Scottish nationality and the pride of being Scottish.

Our third act was our first band of two, as Taz and the Maniacs took centre stage. The band
from Falkirk also had an evident folk influence in their music and despite their missing drummer,
they managed to execute a fun performance. The bassist in particular was one of the standouts
of the night.

The final performance was from The Karavats, an indie band based in East Kilbride. They
brought a youthful energy with their set which included popular hits from Oasis and Fontaines
D.C. The lead singer controlled the stage and engaged the audience and made it feel like a
proper gig with some of the members sharing a pint between songs that brought a cool vibe and
made them feel relatable.

So after all that, who came out the victor?

After a brief discussion between the judges, they came to the conclusion that Will Treeby was
the most deserving winner of the recording session at Studio 1790.

Rachel Buckley, one of the judges had this to say when asked why the panel thought Will should
be crowned the winner. “We thought his performances were really good and he was able to
make his songs really original and creative, especially as he was a one man band.”

Well that’s it, after almost two months of searching it was Will Treeby who triumphantly
completed his quest with the crown on his head. You can find his music when searching up his
name on music platforms such as Spotfiy and Apple Music
