Final shortlists for this year’s Clubs & Socs Award Ball have officially been announced.

The annual bash is being held on Monday, April 3, kicking off at 7pm at Stirling Court Hotel on campus.

The glamorous occasion will see clubs and societies recognised for their efforts this academic year across 13 different categories.

If you haven’t got your ticket yet, there’s time – limited tickets are still available, which you can buy from the Union’s main office for £36.

Brig unveiled the longlists for four of the categories for this year’s Clubs & Socs Ball in the latest edition of our newspaper, which came out on Thursday.

However, we can now give you the full and final shortlists across all categories.

Among the top nominees include Musical Theatre (six), Shazam (six, counting Dora Walkington’s nod for Biggest Contribution to the Student Body), PolSoc (four) and International Society (four).

Meanwhile, the Fitness Society, GEM and SUDS are all sitting on three nominations apiece.

Brig‘s own features and film & TV editor Stuart Graham is up for two nominations – Unsung Hero and Biggest Contribution to the Student Body.

VP Communities Jess Logan said: “We are delighted to announce the shortlist for this year’s Clubs & Societies Awards Ball.

“This year, we smashed last year’s record of nominations received, with over 170 of you individually nominating across the 13 categories – that’s potentially over 2000 nominations!

“As ever, the committee of Students’ Union officers, staff members and society presidents had a remarkably tough decision to make.

“With so much happening on campus this year we are delighted to recognise the following achievements, on top of so many more which we simply could not accommodate.”
