The news that a popular Stirling coffee shop is reopening has been welcomed by the community.

The Burgh Coffeehouse on King Street announced on their Facebook page that they would be reopening for takeaway only and will only be serving drinks in non-reusable cups.

They also said that social distancing rules will be observed by customers and they would only be taking contactless card or phone payments.

Their announcement read, “Great news everyone, The Burgh will be open again on Wednesday!

“Our opening hours will be 10am until 4pm. It is a full normal service but there will be some changes.

“It’s Take Away only, you have to stay 2m apart from each other, its contactless card or phone payments only, no reusable cups and we don’t have any cakes or food… yet.”

Burgh customers praised the news on Facebook, expressed their delight that the business was reopening and supported the business.

One user wrote, “This is a good day.”

The Mercat Cross and City Centre Community Council praised the news posting to their Facebook page,

“Tomorrow sees another local business opening again after some clever thinking. Coffee at the Burgh tomorrow.”

The Burgh is a popular place for both students and Stirling locals.

Burgh was forced to close its doors in March when lockdown began, alongside many other Stirling businesses.
