Road closed sign for roadworks

Stirling roadworks to cause bus disruption

1 min read

Stirling Council has warned that planned roadworks on Causewayhead Rd will cause traffic disruption.

The roadworks will close Causewayhead Rd southbound only between Causewayhead roundabout and Easter Cornton Rd. The closure will last from 9am until 4pm daily.

In their statement, Stirling Council said: “This closure is required to allow the construction of a formal pedestrian crossing over Causewayhead Road and is scheduled to remain in place until 15 April.

“Diversions via Alloa Road, A91, A905 (Kerse Road) Burghmuir Road, Causewayhead Road will be in place. We thank residents for their patience while this work is carried out.”

Bus disruption

McGills has warned that their bus services will be disrupted by the roadworks between 8am and 5pm. Services disrupted include the UL, 51, 52, C30 & 324.

The Unilink (UL) will only be disrupted going from the university into Stirling city centre.

McGills says the UL will be diverted via Dunster Rd and Easter Cornton Rd. However, this contradicts the Council’s diversion plans in their statement.

It is also unclear why McGills has chosen Dunster Rd as their diversion route, as the Dunster Rd junction is currently closed due to bike lane construction.

McGills were contacted to clarify the diversion route but did not respond.
