After the important political events of this year, it seems that the upcoming presidential elections in Russia and the United States could result in significant global political changes.

The content is about the upcoming eighth presidential election in Russia, scheduled to take place in March 2024. The winner of the election will be inaugurated on May 7th of the same year.

From what can be seen so far, Vladimir Putin seems the most obvious winner of this election. Putin controls nearly all of the Russian media. He has no serious opposition to his 24 years in power, having juggled the position of prime minister and president of Russia since 1999.

Putin passed the 2020 amendments to the Russian constitution. This extended the number of terms he could serve in office, solidifying his power.

The upcoming Russian presidential election is of significant importance, as it is taking place amidst a backdrop of political turmoil that has been largely influenced by the Russian-Ukraine conflict. This conflict, which escalated in February 2022, has had far-reaching implications and has sparked international concern.

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has been ongoing for several years, with tensions escalating in 2022. The political situation in the region has been volatile, and this has undoubtedly had an impact on the upcoming election. The Russian government has faced criticism for its handling of the conflict, and many people are closely watching the election to see how the situation will unfold.

The election itself is being closely monitored by international observers. They are hoping to ensure that the process is fair and transparent. There are concerns that the political turmoil and tensions could potentially impact the election’s outcome. However, it is important to note that the Russian government has taken steps to address these concerns. It has expressed its commitment to a democratic process.

In addition to the political situation, several other factors will influence the upcoming election. The economic situation in Russia has been challenging. Many people are facing financial hardships due to the harsh sanctions enacted on Russia after it invaded Ukraine.

The previous 2020 U.S. presidential election was filled with intense political division, election rigging claims and election denial claims from Donald Trump and his republican supporters. All of this would, unfortunately, culminate in the 2021 January 6th capitol riot, which resulted in the deaths of five people.

Donald Trump’s popularity among the American right-wing remains strong despite his arrests and legal actions. The 45th president’s image and ongoing news coverage since leaving office have made him the most prominent Republican candidate. Trump’s recent arrest and a brief time in jail have further solidified his image as a martyr-like figure who is continuously targeted and persecuted for his political beliefs.

Democrat Joe Biden, who won the 2020 presidential election, has been criticized for failing to achieve economic recovery after COVID-19 and deliver on the hope and change he promised. However, halfway through his presidency, there have been fewer political controversies and some easing of political tensions. At 81 years old, Biden is the oldest president ever elected. Some view this as a disadvantage for a superpower nation that may require a younger and more capable leader.

Despite announcing his candidacy in April 2023, there are doubts about whether Biden should run for a second term. Public opinion polls have shown his approval rating as low as 37 per cent. It raises questions about whether he will be chosen as the Democratic nominee and if he will be able to campaign successfully for a second term.

The 2024 Presidential election has no clear candidates for either the Republicans or Democrats, apart from Biden and Trump. It is uncertain which party will be elected to office and who the individual candidate will be.
