Stirling’s annual Photography Festival returns this September with the theme Roots and Rituals to mark the city’s 900th anniversary.
The event features a series of exhibitions, talks, and photo walks, celebrating Stirling’s rich cultural heritage and artistic talent.
This year’s festival has already been a hit, drawing large crowds to many events, including the standout panel session Keeping the Stories Alive at The Tolbooth.
The session celebrated Stirling’s musical history, featuring voices from the city’s punk and post-punk scene, further bringing to life the theme of local heritage and culture.

Creative Director and founder Janie Meikle Bland expressed her excitement for the remaining two weeks of the festival. She said, “Our theme this year is all about celebrating Stirling’s people and place as the city marks its 900th year as a Royal Burgh.
“It’s wonderful to have engaged so many local artists, students, and photographers who have enjoyed the opportunity to exhibit in their own communities.”
