Fans believe this may be because it is in fact not a remaster of the GameCube version, but rather of the PS2 port which was also locked to 30 fps.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

For the grand finale, Nintendo announced that the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is titled The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The trailer itself is short and does not give much away regarding gameplay, however this does not come as surprise for fans of the series. The sequel was originally announced during the 2019 E3 conference, with an eerie and cryptic trailer which set the tone for the overall story of the game. Nothing more was said of the sequel until E3 2021, where we were shown a trailer that was polar opposite in tone and revealed Link’s adventures would take place in the skies above Hyrule as well as on the ground – with 2022 given as its projected year of release.

Sadly, this wasn’t the case, as Nintendo announced during their direct in March that release was to be delayed until Spring 2023 to allow for more development time. This announcement was accompanied by a short teaser, which showed basically the same gameplay shown in the E3 2021 trailer.

Although this direct was also scarce with regards to new gameplay clips, it has been confirmed that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released on May 12 2023.
