The University of Stirling Football Club have regained their title of Queen’s Park Shield winners, as they lifted the trophy on Wednesday, April 9 after a 2-1 victory against Edinburgh Napier.
The teams faced each other at Heriot-Watt University’s Oriam.
Stirling looked to come out victorious once again, after their last win of the competition in 2023.

The boys put on an excellent display of resilience and dominance, especially in the first half, as they completely controlled the game and worked Napier’s defence hard.
There were plenty of close chances in the opening moments of the game as Jay Burns sent one just over the crossbar and Thomas Vonk had a clear header, but it ricocheted off the bar.
It got to the 20th minute before Stirling broke the deadlock, as Finn Moffett managed to get away from the Edinburgh side, dribble the ball round the goalkeeper and send it into the back of the net.
Heading into half-time, the scoreline remained the same, despite the number of chances Stirling had to double their lead.
They managed to do just that in the 71st minute though, as Burns took an incredible shot from distance with the ball firing into the back of the net.
Napier managed to pull one back 17 minutes later, as Stirling let Liam Cairns have space at the edge of the box to get the shot away and he sent it into the top right corner.
However, despite their efforts to get back into the game, Napier couldn’t get the equaliser.
So, Stirling successfully got their hands on the silverware.
University of Stirling beat the University of Glasgow in the quarter-finals and the University of Aberdeen in the semi-finals to get to the final of the Queen’s Park Shield.
It is the 14th time the university has lifted the over 100-year-old trophy since the university began partaking in the competition.
