Jazz and blues festival comes to Callander

2 mins read

From October 4 to 6, the quaint town of Callander will hold the jazz and blues festival for the13th year running.

Over 50 unique venues are hosting a range of solo artists and bands performing brilliant live blues, jazz and boogie.

Callander is only a short trip from Stirling but has a real picturesque yet eccentric atmosphere making it ideal to spend a day out.

The headlining acts feature The Revolutionaries, a band heavily influenced by 1940s and 1950s R&B who promise an upbeat electric set.

Award winning singer-songwriter Kyla Brox, whose raw talent has seen her described as “the finest female blues singer of her generation,” will also be there, alongside the Cadillac Kings, who blend early rhythm and blues style with innovative lyrics.

Any performance across the long weekend will be an authentic and mesmerising experience whether you’re a big fan of jazz and blues or fancy trying something new.

If you are looking for something more relaxed, there’s a Blues Cruise being held at 1pm on Sunday, sailing across the serene and scenic Loch Katrine.

An end of festival party looks to be a promising finish to the weekend held at the Crown Hotel at 9pm, with Fraser McDonald Swing Style bringing the weekend to a close.

You can purchase a Weekend Rover Ticket that lets you attend all the weekend’s events for £50 online. Alternatively, buy tickets at the venues on the day.

Make sure you take advantage of the occasion and head along to Callander this weekend to beat the mid-semester blues.
