SUDS set to host collaborative charity livestream for Movember

2 mins read

After their extraordinary exhibition of talent during SUDS on Screen, the Stirling University Drama Society (SUDS) will now host their Movember Charity Livestream. The livestream will take place on November 25 at 7 p.m.

Collaborating with Stirling University’s Live Music and Musical Theatre Societies, the livestream will include an array of performances including stand-up comedy and musical numbers. Some of the music has been composed by the musicians themselves, and will be performed for the first time during the livestream.

The livestream aims to raise money for Movember, an organisation that funds programmes surrounding men’s mental health and suicide prevention, as well as prostate and testicular cancer research.

By 2030, we aim to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%.

The Movember website states: “Since 2003, Movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.

“We exist to help men live happier, healthier, longer lives – this is what drives every single one of our 1,250 men’s health projects.”

SUDS members have already raised £105 and hope to surpass their £250 target during the livestream. Their Facebook event page has urged people “to invite friends and family to come and watch”, noting that “It would be amazing to reach our goal”.

You can join the Movember Charity Livestream on the SUDS Instagram Page and donate to their fundraiser here.
