VP Communities candidate withdraws from election

VP Communities candidate, Margaux Pierre, has withdrawn from the Student Union elections citing “personal reasons”.

Her withdrawal has been announced today on her campaign Instagram as well as at the election hustings by Democracy & Representation Coordinator, Rosamund Vickers.

Margaux was hoping to tackle a broad variety of issues in areas such as health and wellbeing, sustainability, transport, and housing.

Some of Margaux’s aims were to increase vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free options on campus, a focus on upgrades to older accommodation, and advocating free travel for all students.

Her withdrawal leaves Jess Reid as the sole VP Communities candidate, and leaves the Union President role as the only one being contested by more than one candidate.
