Moscow Reindeer

  • 3-4 rosemary needles
  • Small pinch of fresh thyme
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 ounces  vodka
  • 2 ounces cranberry juice
  • 4 ounces ginger beer
  • Optional: Some fresh cranberries

In a cocktail shaker, muddle together herbs and sugar before topping with vodka and cranberry juice and shake with ice. You can pre-prep this step a day or two before to save mess and time when you are actually hosting.

Then just strain into a cocktail mug, a copper one is classic for a Moscow mule/reindeer but any will do and then fill with ginger beer.

Top tip: To seem really fancy without much effort pre make ice with cranberries in it and add those for a Rudolf theme.

Winter Aperol Spritz

For those who refuse to let summer go or have a lot of summer-themed alcohol left over here is the Winter Aperol Spritz. Very simple in the sense that you just put all the different liquids in the glass, and add an orange wedge and a bit of rosemary before giving it a stir!

3 ounces Aperol
3 ounces Prosecco
1 ounce cranberry juice
2 ounces soda water
1 orange wedge
1 orange zest twist
1 sprig of rosemary

Grinch Mimosas

This one is quick, easy and feels a bit like a science experiment too. You can be quite lenient with exact measurements for different shades of a Grinch cocktail.

1 ounce of Prosecco (champagne if you want to go there)
½ ounce of blue curacao
3 ounces of orange juice
1 strawberries

Begin with the blue curacao in a champagne flute. The fun bit is pouring in the orange juice to make the fun grinch colour before topping with the best bit, the bubbly.

Finish by cutting a strawberry in half, cut it into a heart shape and pop it on the rim of the flute.

Top tip: This one is very easy to make alcohol-free! Simply replace the blue curacao with any blue fizzy drink you can find and then the bubbly for nosecco.

Winter Wonderland Cocktail

Finally, a simple yet effective blue winter wonderland feel.

Splash of blue curacao
1 ounce of triple sec
Prosecco
Edible silver glitter balls

Start with a little bit of blue curacao, add in the triple sec and finish with as much prosecco as you like. Add in the edible glitter and watch the snow globe effect take off.
