Revamped queer club night returns to Stirling

2 mins read

A Stirling pub is resurrecting it’s once regularly ran LGBTQ+ night this Friday, March 28.

Settle Inn will be host to ‘Settle Out’, a free queer-friendly event playing vintage music on vinyl records.

The event has been organised by Robbie McAvenue, a University of Stirling student, and Sam Gibbons, a former Stirling resident.

The pair promise a night full of disco, house, and high energy music.

They hope the event will provide a refreshing “alternative” for students and residents looking for a night out in Stirling.

The event is from 8:00pm until late.

Currently, the organisers hope to hold the event on the last Friday of every month.

After the March event, the next scheduled dates are April 25 and May 30.

Organiser McAvenue said: “It’s so exciting to finally have a night in Stirling ran by queer people for queer people

“Coming from the perspective of a gay student at Stirling, there really hasn’t been an alternative to Fubar for a wee while that also feels like a queer friendly space, so Settle Out will be lots of fun and also really refreshing.

“We’re doing this night only on vinyl for the first one we host. Some of our stuff has just been lying about our houses, but we’ve collected quite a lot of it over the past year and a bit.

“Expect a lot of house and disco, with a bit of synth pop and high-NRG too.”
